Heimdall Equipment is a one-officer company in New Castle, Indiana. No investors. The flagship product, the Valkyrie Link, is a patent-pending transport restraint for handcuffed suspects. It was designed on patrol, priced so a small department can buy it, and made in the USA.
The Owner
Officer Dawson Schmidt has been in law enforcement since May 2021. He started at the Muncie Police Department and transferred to the New Castle Police Department in September 2023. He works night shift as a field training officer, STOPS instructor, and gun liaison, on calls from thefts to shots fired.
He started the company after several arrests led him to realize there was too much risk in transports. The point of the gear is practical: fewer chances for a transport to go bad, at a price an officer or a small agency can actually pay.
What The Company Makes
The Valkyrie Link comes in a Back Seat model that uses factory LATCH anchors and a Front Seat model that mounts with cam straps and a steel ring — both built to stay in the car. A handcuff strap limits reach. A Berserker strap limits upper-body movement. An ankle hobble is included. The Valkyrie Link is used with the seat belt, not instead of it. It is available to order.
