About the Shield Between Chaos and Order

Heimdall Equipment is a first responder-owned, fully self-funded company. No investors. No outside pressure. Just a working cop building practical gear for other officers. Our flagship product, the Valkyrie Link, is designed to make suspect transport safer and more secure without the corporate markup. We keep prices as low as possible so small and mid-size departments can actually afford real solutions. Rooted in Norse resilience and American grit, we build tools that stand shield-to-shield with those who protect others.

The Shield Against Chaos

Vikings in a shield wall

In the old tales, Heimdall stood alone at the edge of Asgard, the pale god with eyes that never slept and ears that heard the grass grow. He was the watchman—the last line between order and the chaos that waited beyond the Bifrost. His horn would sound when the end approached, but until that day, he held the watch without fail.

At Heimdall Equipment, we carry that same charge. We build tools for the guardians who stand the line every shift—the ones who meet disorder head-on so others don’t have to. No investors. No corporate masters. Just a working officer forging equipment meant to keep the shield wall strong.

The call has sounded. The watch continues. Will you stand the line?

Our Mission

Innovating on Patrol

About Heimdall Equipment LLC: Heimdall Equipment is a first responder-owned company based in New Castle, Indiana, built by a working officer for other officers. We specialize in practical, street-tested equipment designed to solve real problems faced on patrol. Our flagship product, the Valkyrie Link, is a patent-pending transport restraint that limits dangerous hand movement during suspect transports, helping keep both officers and those in custody safer. Every product is developed with direct input from the job, American-made, and focused on what actually works in the field.

About the Owner

Valkyrie Link installed in vehicle

Officer Dawson Schmidt has served in law enforcement since May 2021. He began his career with the Muncie Police Department before transferring to the New Castle Police Department in September 2023, where he continues to serve today. He currently works as a Field Training Officer, STOPS instructor, and Gun Liaison on night shift, still answering calls ranging from thefts to shots fired.

After a traffic stop gone wrong that resulted in the death of his police academy roommate, he decided he needed to do more to help prevent similar tragedies. He vowed to create practical products that make the job safer — and to build them in a way that remains attainable for the average officer and small department. That commitment led to the founding of Heimdall Equipment and the development of the Valkyrie Link.
