A patent-pending supplemental restraint for suspect transport. It attaches to the handcuffs already on the person and stays installed in the vehicle: the Back Seat model connects to the factory LATCH child-seat anchors, and the Front Seat model mounts with three cam straps and a steel ring on the back of the seat. It limits hand reach so a cuffed person is less able to unbuckle, reach a missed weapon or contraband, self-harm, or assault the officer. It includes a handcuff strap, a Berserker upper-body strap, and a leg hobble. It is used with the seat belt, not instead of it.
The handcuff strap connects the cuffs to the vehicle mount - the factory LATCH anchors on the Back Seat model, or the steel ring on the back of the seat on the Front Seat model. Pulling up on the strap brings the hands up along the back and cuts down how far the person can reach. The Berserker strap goes around the upper body. The hobble limits kicking and a run if the door is open.
No. The Back Seat model uses the factory LATCH anchors already in most modern vehicles. The Front Seat model mounts with three cam straps and a steel ring on the back of the seat. Neither needs drilling, brackets, or permanent modification. The Back Seat model is built for an unmodified rear seat; use the Front Seat model if your agency transports up front.
